How to view and edit your sales forecasts by product ?

Updated this week

Access: Forecasts Module >> Sales planning

1/ Accessing sales planning

Go to the Forecasts module, then open the Sales planning tab.

💡 If you do not see this screen, please check that:

  • you have the required permissions

  • products are correctly added to your location’s assortment

2/ Selecting the location and date

  • Select the location

  • Choose the desired date or period (up to 15 days in advance)

The planning view will then automatically display:

  • future sales forecasts

  • or actual sales for past dates

3/ Reading sales forecasts by product

In the Products tab, you can view:

  • the quantities of products to prepare

  • the expected product mix for the day

💡 This view helps you anticipate production and adjust kitchen organization accordingly.

4/ Viewing recipe and ingredient requirements

Navigate to the Recipes or Ingredients tabs to see:

  • total volumes to be produced

  • required ingredient quantities

👉 This information is directly linked to the displayed sales forecasts.

5/ Adjusting a sales forecast (if authorized)

If you have the permission “Enter a sales forecast by product”:

  • Click directly on a product cell

  • Edit the daily forecast

💡 If time slots are set up for your location (e.g. lunch / dinner), you can also adjust the forecast by time slot.

⚠️ Editing a time slot automatically updates the daily forecast.

6/ Understanding saved forecasts

Forecasts automatically calculated by Inpulse are used as the base.

As soon as you modify a value, it becomes the priority forecast.

💡 A saved forecast appears:

  • in bold

  • with a highlighted cell

7/ Resetting forecasts if needed

If you have modified forecasts (especially by time slot), a “Reset forecasts” button appears.

👉 Clicking it allows you to return to:

  • automatic forecasts

  • the standard time slot breakdown

8/ Exporting the sales plan

You can export the sales plan:

  • to Excel

  • or to PDF

💡 When exporting to PDF, you can choose whether or not to include:

  • products

  • recipes

  • ingredients

⚠️ Key takeaways

  • Any forecast change directly impacts:

    • production volumes

    • ingredient requirements

    • displayed margin

  • Manually edited forecasts are always retained, even if other data changes
