Setting Up Buffer Stock

Updated over a month ago

⚠️ Feature available only for AI-enabled plans

Buffer stock can be configured in two ways to allow:

  • Centralized management by headquarters

  • Autonomy for stores and franchisees

1/ Configuration from the Ingredient Page (Admins)

All users with access to the ingredient page can define buffer stock via the Buffer Stock sub-tab:

Ingredient > Buffer Stock

From this view:

  1. Click “Manage Buffer Stocks”

  2. Select the desired scope (stores and/or groups)

  3. Define the number of buffer stock days

This setup allows:

  • Setting a default value for multiple stores

  • Harmonizing stock policy across the network

2/ Configuration from the Store Page (Managers / Franchisees)

Each store can define its own buffer stock via:

Store > Buffer Stock sub-tab

From this view:

  • Select one or more items

  • Define the number of buffer stock days

  • Apply the value simultaneously to multiple ingredients

This allows buffer stock to be adapted to:

  • Local delivery conditions

  • Storage capacity

  • Operational specifics of the store

3/ Best Practices

  • Set a headquarters value as a common baseline

  • Allow stores to adjust if necessary

  • Avoid making frequent changes

  • Verify the impact on recommendations after modification

Key Takeaways

  • Buffer stock can be configured at both network and store levels

  • It is expressed in forecasted consumption days

  • It is automatically included in order recommendations
